Die Roten would recover from an underwhelming 1991-92 season to finish second in 1992-93 under Erich Ribbeck. Bruno Labbadia would top score for Bayern in this campaign with 14 in all competitions. Particular highlights would be a 6-0 home win against Saarbrücken along with a 4-2 away win at fifth placed Bayer Leverkusen.
