Away shirt as worn when the side participated in the Club World Championship following their Champions League triumph. Liverpool were up against Brazilian giants Sao Paulo, who have won the competition twice having beaten the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan in the early 90’s. Unfortunately, despite dominating the game and having a total of 21 shots, The Reds were unable to out-muscle Sao Paulo, as Miniero scored the decisive winner to secure the club’s third World Championship title. The game caused some controversy when Liverpool had three goals disallowed.
